Jess

March 12, 2006

Thanks so much to you all who commented on my last post. It really did help to read your words of encouragement.

Here is my Jess cardigan (Rowan pattern). Unfortunately I made the buttonholes too big so if anyone out there has any good tips on reinforcing them, send them my way!

Love the sweater! Every time I’ve made buttonholes too big I just take the same yarn and sew a stitch or two at the top and bottom of the hole to tighten it up. Can’t see the stitches since the yarn matches and it works like a charm.

What Lora said should work fine – I do it with my regular sewing too. I am amazed by your knitting – yer makin’ such wonderful things! I still haven’t yet finished the throw blanket I began when you re-taught me.

Cute sweater but there is something about the headless model that doestn’t do it for me.
I think you should work on your poses!

Great sweater! What is the yarn? Maybe you could crochet around the edges of the buttonholes??

Bigger buttons. With fimo clay you can make them any size you need.

The yarn is just some cheap stuff but it still looks great. Made the whole thing for under $30! Will try putting some extra stitches in button holes… Just a pain in the ass do deal with!
