Busy and Fiery

February 2, 2006

Oh boy have I been busy lately! But not busy posting as you may have noticed. What I’ve been doing instead is a lot of knitting and crafting as well as working on my first "altered book." Oh yeah, I’ve also been busy taking care of an 8 month old boy who is currently sitting right next to me screeching periodically at the top of his lungs. When he does this, my job is to jump up in the air and throw my hands up in shocked surprise. Hysterical laughing. Repeat. We’ve been playing this game over and over again for roughly 48 hours now with no end in sight. Nico’s other favorite new activity is to make funny sounds by flipping his lower lip while humming. It’s so interesting to see how babies learn to do things. I see him sitting there in his highchair trying out different variations "Let’s see, how about if I flip my earlobe while humming? Hmm… no funny noise. Okay, how about my forehead? Nope, nothing there either. Let’s try that lip again. Blublublublub… Aha! there we go!" Yesterday on the bus a very tired and cranky Nico flipped his lip and sobbed at the same time which got us some fairly perplexed looks from the other passengers. "Wahhhhhh! Waaaaaahhhh!, Waaaahhhhhblublublublub (momentary break was taken from sobbing to listen to the new sound) Wahhhhahahahaaaaaa (sobbing resumed), Waaaablublublublub (multi-tasking achieved. Discovered that can cry hysterically and make funny sounds at the same time).

I’ve been taking pictures of all the new projects so I’ll be posting them all through the next week starting today with my new Fiery Bolero that I just finished a few days ago!

Oh my gosh — just stop. Nico is too cute. Really, I think he might be the cutest baby ever. I mean that. Holy cow — I’m on a cuteness high after looking at all those new pictures (well, and a sugar/caffeine high, but that’s a different story). But now, how can I have babies? How could they possibly be cuter than Nico?

    Patti-
Totally recommend it. It’s the first thing I’ve EVER knit that actually fits the way I imagined that it would.
